What if parents are late/early arriving home?Updated 8 months ago

Occasionally, parents may contact you during the booking to ask whether you would be happy to extend or shorten the booking slightly. You and the parents can discuss this, and if you agree, the booking times can be easily adjusted via the App at the end of the booking. This will automatically update the payment accordingly.

If the parents are not home exactly on time, it's understandable to have concerns. In such cases, you can check in with them around 15 minutes after the scheduled end time. A message or a quick phone call is a good way to enquire about an updated estimated time of arrival.

Upon their return, it's important to uphold a professional and friendly manner and provide a thorough handover.

In central London, where childcarers sometimes rely on public transport, if a parent's delayed arrival home results in you missing your last bus or train, it would be reasonable to kindly ask them to consider contributing towards a taxi fare to get you home. This can also be paid through the App under 'add a tip/extras' on the payment page.
