How to reassure nervous parentsUpdated 10 months ago

We understand that many parents can feel nervous about using Sitters for the first time and leaving their children with someone new. Sometimes, this anxiety even leads to cancellations of their initial booking.

While most parents won't need to contact you, some may seek extra reassurance. If the family reaches out, please be as positive and reassuring as possible - they're understandably nervous about trying Sitters for the first time. Introduce yourself warmly and share a bit about your experience and qualifications to help build their confidence.

Take the opportunity to ask about their children and their routines, as this shows your genuine interest and expertise in childcare. If they have specific questions about their child's care, do your best to address them. However, if they have any questions about Sitters' service that you're unable to answer, kindly ask them to contact Sitters directly and we’ll be happy to help them.

Offering to provide updates during the booking can also help ease their minds. Your calm, confident and compassionate approach will go a long way in reassuring nervous parents.
